The short version

Cheervite exists so you can share life's moments — not so we can harvest data. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, we never sell personal data, and we never market to your guests. Their contact details belong to you, the host.

What we collect

Hosts: name, email, password (stored as a secure hash), the event details you enter, and payment records handled by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.

Guests: whatever they choose to submit on an event page (name, optional email/phone, RSVP answer, notes). This data is visible to the event's host and to no one else. Guests' emails are used only for messages about that event (confirmations, host announcements, reminders), each with an unsubscribe link.

Technical: we keep short-lived, hashed IP records for spam and abuse prevention, and simple counters (page views, QR scans). No third-party trackers run on guest event pages.

AI assistance

Optional writing helpers ("Write it for me") send only the minimal event fields needed (occasion, names, tone) to our AI provider (Anthropic) to draft text. Drafts always land in an editable box — nothing publishes without the host's say-so.

Retention & deletion

Event pages live for the period included in their plan, plus 12 months of safekeeping after expiry. Deleting your account or an event actually deletes it — RSVPs, photos, wishes and all — after a short recovery window.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and remember things like a password-protected page you've unlocked. No advertising cookies.
